CC+KODA

Sharing information, knowledge and media(music/video/text) has finally become something people notice and use.

Last week Me and my Label(Uhrlaut) attended a debate where we and some other users of Creative Commons spoke of the opportunities using KODA and Creative Commons to protect the work, but at the same time loosen up the copyright protection, so that the musician has a choice to share the music and even allow people to copy it to their friends, all legally and free.

Some of my discoveries was that the music business is scared of this direction and a lot of musicians are not able to make this choice, to use Creative Commons, because their record label do not play this way.

Some other discoveries was that I make more or the same money as other musicians, who do not use Creative Commons. Even though I give my music away for free and allow people to copy it.

Since me and my record label were the first to do like this on my debut album Small arm of Sea four years ago(using KODA and Creative Commons together), Sharing and allow people to make copies of the records, we really want to share the knowledge about the options and opportunities Creative Commons can bring to your work. Feel free to ask for advise.

I hope more will investigate this opportunity.
